Altero has it origin in technology – and the consulting company INAC AB, formerly listed on the Nordic Growth Market (NGM) stock exchange.
In the early 2000s the company developed a number of products based on wireless communication,
including a temperature monitoring system for grocery stores, which were the origin of CoolGuard.
In the beginning of 2004 the development and sales of the temperature monitoring system was considered to be outside of the core activities of INAC´s business. INAC therefore took the decision to remove this section of the company and started a new shareholding company called CoolGuard that was distributed to INAC´s shareholders and listed on the AktieTorget, stock exchange.
Years after the listing, the activities within the self-monitoring area developed well.
However, to reduce the risk of reliance on just one area, it was decided that activities should be broadened to other markets outside of the food sector.
In the beginning of 2007 Airson FMS in Ängelholm acquired CoolGuard, a company that provides solutions for operations and maintenance of large industrial property owners.
CoolGuard and Airson FMS had already successfully worked a number of years together with the management of collected temperature data.
In connection with the acquisition of Airson FMS, a public offer for the listed company Iniris was made by CoolGuard. The bid was accepted by the share holders of Iniris and the acquisition was completed in mid 2007. Iniris provides solutions in sectors such as distribution measurement and remote reading.
The business activities of both CoolGuard and Iniris complemented each other technically very well, while at the same time cost-related synergies could be positively achieved between the companies.
With the CoolGuard activities at this time expanding to cover four main areas: Self-monitoring, Operations & Maintenance, Distribution measurement and Remote reading, there was a need to introduce a more uniform business name than CoolGuard, which would conform in a better way with the Group´s business and expanded product portfolio.
Therefore the business name Altero was introduced for the Group in early 2009.
The subsidiary companies Airson FMS and Iniris then changed names to Altero Systems respectively Altero Energy Solutions. Former brands such as MeterCam, V3i and CoolGuard continued to remain as product names.
Altero is today well positioned in the market within their respective fields.
Growth for the company products and solutions is driven by the increasing demands for energy saving and even by legislations, such as, more stringent demands for food safety requirements
and future demands for distribution measurement within properties.
