Until 2009 the group was called CoolGuard and consisted of the parent company CoolGuard AB and its subsidiaries Airson FMS AB. Iniris and AB.

Altero supply innovative systems within the areas Self-Monitoring, Operation & Maintenance, Distribution Measurement and Remote Reading. Customers are mainly in the food sector (restaurants, caterers and supermarkets), real estate and energy sector. Customers include IKEA, Stena Line, Scandic Hotels, Danfoss, TAC, Volvo and AstraZeneca.
